NMM 2170 - Nordkisa
NMM 2170 Nordkisa is a barred olivine (BO) micrometeorite, the type-example used in the Atlas of Micrometeorites, full page 104. It is an aerodynamic stone with a golden nickel-iron bead at the front. The characteristic stripy texture of olivine (forsterite) plate crystals is complete all around, with typical magnetite “Christmas tree” crystals scattered throughout. The stone exhibits beautiful symmetry along its 0.3 mm length axis. A classic specimen.
