In the front, a huge golden nickel-iron metal bead has triggered conical crystallisation, covering approximately one-third of the stone. The metal is surrounded by a thin sulfide rim, so this stone is fresh from Space!

The large metal bead has colourful oxidation (Newton rings) on one side, and the glass has several circular pit erosions, so this stone has it all!

 

PROVENANCE: The catalogue number refers to the NMM archive, the index of Jon Larsen’s Project Stardust collection, which is the reference collection for urban micrometeorites. The stone was found, curated, and selected by Larsen. It is in pristine condition, fresh from Space.
