Iconic CC-type micrometeorite.

Micrometeorite [NMM 3518] is an iconic stone, and received more likes than any other micrometeorite when it was presented as Stardust of the Day at Project Stardust. It is a quite unique cryptocrystalline (CC-type) Space rock with a large nickel-iron metal bead in the front. In the middle are large shiny pyramidal crystal domains and at the rear end an open crater from a second bead which has fallen out in flight. This micrometeorite had rapid spin during atmospheric entry, hence the two beads and beautiful symmetry. On top of it all; some of the pale areas are translucent, and there are traces of colorful oxidation all around this fantastic stone.

The stone was found August 15, 2022, at Skedsmo, Viken, Norway.
