Micrometeorite NMM 4709 is a cryptocrystalline (CC) type with two large metal beads. This ~0.3 mm cosmic spherule is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen!

The Space rock is a pale shiny “turtleback” variety with unique dark lines (borders) between the pyramidal crystal domains. Due to spin during atmospheric entry, it has two different nickel-iron metal beads in the front, both surrounded by a silvery sulfide rim. The symmetry is stunning, and this stone is much better in person than in the photos! The stone was found on September 10, 2023, during fieldwork searching for micrometeorites on the roof of Maxby, Nordby, Viken, Norway. This is a unique museum-quality micrometeorite, a jewel in any collection.
