Stardust Study Collection 4 is four barred olivine (BO) micrometeorites at the price of one!
Stardust Study Collection #4
This is ideal to study the stripy polysomatic surface textures up close to learn how to identify micrometeorites in urban dust. Recommended together with the Atlas of Micrometeorites and the How to Find Stardust books, which you will find in the book section of Treasures from Space.
The four micrometeorites are in the size range between 0.2 and 0.3. A meteorite collection is incomplete without real stardust particles, and here you can get four of Jon Larsen’s findings from last year, directly from the man who discovered them:
An urban collection of large micrometeorites
PROVENANCE: The catalogue number refers to the NMM archive, the index of Jon Larsen’s Project Stardust collection, which is the reference collection for urban micrometeorites.
